Careers Teaching Resources for Teachers & Students

The Careers Creative is the one-stop spot for all your career-related needs.

The Careers Creative is dedicated to providing teachers and students all the guides, tools, and resources required to ensure each student has the skills and knowledge they need to track down the career of their dreams.

The material on this site is divided into three core sections. Each section contains detailed guides and articles on a wide range of topics. This content will walk you through each topic in a step-by-step manner, with lots of tips and suggestions for creating comprehensive lessons on the subject.

The four core sections of this website are:

  • Career Readiness
  • Job Search Skills
  • Soft Skills
  • Work Experience

Career Readiness

My Interests

Career Readiness has many definitions. For the purpose of categorizing the material on this site, here we cover things such as how to find a career path, goal-setting, skills and interests auditing, etc., that a student must undergo BEFORE they actually begin looking for work.

Job Search Skills

Cover Letter Writing

Our Job Search Skills section focuses on the skills required by students to find, apply, and land that all-important job. It includes important content like how to write a resume, cover letter writing, and interview preparation, among other things.

Soft Skills

Soft Skills are sometimes also referred to as ‘enterprise skills’ and ‘transferable skills.’ As it is impossible to accurately predict the future shape of the job market largely due to the exponential technological growth, these skills are becoming ever-increasingly important. Soft skills are those skills that are transferable between jobs. Whereas hard skills can be defined as the specific technical skills required to perform a very specific job, soft skills are almost universally useful. Examples of soft skills include critical thinking, problem-solving, communication skills, and financial literacy.

Work Experience

The Work Experience section focuses on ways to get more practical experience whether through volunteering, undertaking formal or informal work experiences, or virtual work experience. There will also be a strong focus on how students can gain experience through the completion of virtual projects we call Work Experience Simulations.
